- 10th Infantry Division personnel donated 697,000 pesos during the two-day relief operations for the victims of Typhoon Paeng in Maguindanao del Norte which began on November 13.
Taken from their subsistence allowance, the donation was used to buy 1,000 hygiene kits including toothpaste, toothbrushes, slippers, mosquito nets, bath soaps, detergent bars, coffee packets and pale.
The 10th Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Battalion under Lt. Col. Magdalena Custodio, the 6th CMO Battalion of the 6th Infantry Division and the local government of Datu Blah Sinsuat distributed the relief kits to residents of Barangay Pura and Barangay Matuber
On the other hand, a total of 720 families benefited from the relief operations carried out by 10ID and Kiwanis International Philippines Southern District Divisions 6A, 6B, 7 and 8 led by Jimmy Go to the affected residents of Barangay Delican and Barangay Kusiong, both at Datu Odin Sinsuat on November 13.
Relief packs include five kilograms of rice, preserves, noodles and pre-loved clothes.
Major General Nolasco A Mempin, Division Commander, praised the efforts of the soldiers to help the residents affected by the calamity.
“Our service to our compatriots is not limited to security alone. It is also our honor and pride as soldiers, to help in any way possible, anytime and anywhere,” Mempin added.
