437 MSMEs in Kabankal receive cash assistance of 3.5 million pesos



A TOTAL of 437 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the city of Kabankalan, which were affected by Typhoon Odette, have received nearly 3.5 million pesos in cash assistance from the Department of Trade and industry (DTI).

The city government, in a statement, said each MSME received 8,000 pesos in a distribution held recently in the city.

Engiemar Tupas, Senior Commercial Industry Development Engineer of DTI-Negros Occidental, also Head of SMED Unit, the cash assistance is aimed at helping entrepreneurs reopen their businesses after being hit hard by the typhoon .

Vice Mayor Raul Rivera, for his part, said the DTI assistance will also help local businesses recover and boost the local economy.

Also present during the program were Senior Business Advisor of DTI-Negros Occidental III Gabriel Advincula and Victor Alamon of DTI-Kabankalan. (EPN)
