Baltimore Ravens O-Line Preparing for Hurricane Donald

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Ravens prepare for the assault on Rams defensive end Aaron Donald.

Donald, three-time Defensive Player of the Year, has 12 sacks this season and has created some head-to-head problems for some of the NFL’s top offensive linemen.

“He’s a great player, a great competitor. He’s really going after him and doing the right things, ”Ravens center Bradley Bozeman said. “He plays games when they have to be made; I have nothing but good things to say about him. It will be a test for sure. We’re happy to take on the challenge. We’re just going to go,” work out today and try to prepare for these guys. They have a great defensive front, and we’ll see where we end up at the end of the day. “

The Ravens have allowed 49 sacks this season between Lamar Jackson (38), Tyler Huntley (10) and Josh Johnson (1). Baltimore will likely have to use a few players to contain Donald, who has a non-stop engine.

“The guy never gives up. He’s a finisher, ”said Bozeman. “He continues to finish. He continues to play the game; it does not stop. He doesn’t stop until the whistle blows, so I think that’s one of the most important things. I know he breaks his butt during the offseason. He does what he has to do. He’s a pro in every sense of the word. I really think that’s what makes him one of the best.

The Ravens were able to contain Donald the most in the last game against him. He only managed one tackle without a sack in Baltimore’s 45-6 win on November 25, 2019. Quarterback Lamar Jackson threw five touchdowns, but it’s uncertain whether he can play on Sunday .

In 2015, Donald had more of an impact, making nine tackles, including two for a loss, and a sack in the Ravens’ 16-13 victory.

The Rams have won four straight games and are still in contention for the NFC playoff seed.

The Ravens expect Donald to play a key role.

“I think every competitor is like that,” Bozeman said. “It’s a real opportunity to also be able to show what you can do on the pitch. Playing such a great competitor like Aaron is just a great opportunity to go out there and see what you can do, to see how you stand up. I think this was my second year that we have been playing them, and I had that opportunity. [then], and it’s the same now. I look forward to it, and we’ll see where we end. We are going to get ready this week and try to do our best to limit it as well as possible.
