Brahmastra sells over 3.25 lakh tickets in major multiplex chains on advance booking; Box office tsunami expected

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are highly anticipated brahmastra Part One: Shiva is on a record binge before it even hits theaters. The fantasy adventure film, part of India’s first-ever original cinematic universe called Astraversehas already surpassed the biggest hindi opener of 2022 Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in presale of tickets.

Director Ayan Mukerji, to date, has sold over 3.25 combined tickets at two major multiplex chains in the country on advance booking. While it recorded 2 lakh in ticket sales at PVR, INOX’s count stands at 1.25 lakh.

Both multiplex channels took to Twitter to share the positive update.

“With over 1,25,000 tickets sold in the first weekend at #INOX, the excitement for #Brahmastra is growing! Have you booked your tickets yet? If not, book your tickets now at your nearest INOX. close !” read the official INOX statement.

Sharing a photo with the caption “2 lakh tickets already booked at PVR for first weekend of release and counting,” PVR wrote, “#Brahmastra will set the big screen on fire! Have you booked your tickets to embark on this mystical journey at #PVR? Out tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, trade analyst Sumit Kadel shared via microblogging website that Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is poised to cross Rs 10 crore in single advance sales. “When 95% of Hindi movies in 2022 failed to open in double digits, #Brahmastra will collect ₹10 cr+ net on advance sales only. Total advance bookings for the weekend are expected to exceed ₹20 cr nett. A grand opening is guaranteed, all eyes are on the content now!!” he tweeted.

The film hits theaters on September 9.
