Classes suspended in parts of Cagayan Valley due to Typhoon Maymay depression



TUGUEGARAO CITY – At least 13 areas in the Cagayan Valley region suspended classes on Tuesday, October 11, due to heavy rains brought on by Tropical Depression Maymay.

The Regional Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in the city of Santa Teresita in Cagayan has canceled classes and work in government offices, except for frontline workers.

School classes at all levels have also been suspended in the towns of Aparri, Lal-lo, Buguey, Camalaniugan, Gattaran, Sanchez Mira, Claveria and Allacapan in Cagayan.

Classes from preschool to high school have been suspended in Ballesteros and Gonzaga, both in Cagayan.

Kindergarten and nursery classes have also been suspended in the city of Alcala, while classes from preschool to high school have been suspended in Pamplona.

In Alfonso Castaneda, in the province of Nueva Vizcaya, classes from kindergarten to grade 12 have been suspended.

At 5 a.m. Signal No. 1 was hoisted over Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora and Nueva Ecija and the far north of Quezon Province (General Nakar, Infanta), including the Polillo Islands. INQ
