Walt Disney World Resort is known for its top attractions and beloved magical experiences.
Guests visit Disney Parks to enjoy attractions such as Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, and Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom; Expedition Everest, Avatar Flight of Passage and Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom; Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Toy Story Mania and Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios; and Soarin’ Around The World, Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT.
But there’s more to Walt Disney World Resort than the theme parks.
Disney World is also home to two world-class water parks at Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.
Typhoon Lagoon several months ago after being closed for almost two years. As Disney Park prepares for summer crowds, it was recently announced that the beloved After-Hours H20 Glow Nights event will return to Typhoon Lagoon this summer. However, Disney remained silent on the status of Blizzard Beach.
Disney has announced a Blizzard Beach renovation that was originally scheduled to wrap up in March. However, the water park’s reopening date was later removed from Disney World’s website and its closure remains indefinite at this point.
Although there has been no update from Disney on the status of the water park, we can share that a permit was recently filed for provide labour, material and/or electrical work for the construction at Blizzard Beach. While the description of what will happen during this ongoing renovation is vague, another permit filed indicates that the closure will be extended even longer.
by Disney current statement about Blizzard Beach reads:
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is currently closed. However, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is now open!
Like other areas of Walt Disney World Resort, we are once again welcoming Guests and Cast Members to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park responsibly, with a plan focused on health and wellness.
While nothing has been confirmed, it should be noted that the current Disney Park schedule extends through June and Blizzard Beach is not currently listed on any of those dates.
