Houston’s beer festival, the Wild West Brew Fest, returns this fall

Wild West Brew Fest, one of Katy’s biggest philanthropic eventswill return for its eleventh year from November 3-5, this time in a new location.

The event will take place at Typhoon Texas instead of Katy Mills Mall for the first time since the festival’s inception.

Rated on 1st beer event in North America by Beer Yeti in 2018, Wild West Brew Fest is hosted by the Rotary Club of Katy. This year’s event will feature more than 500 beer vendors and is expected to draw a crowd of 9,000 visitors, according to a press release from event organizers.

Since the event’s inception in 2011, nearly $1 million has been distributed to local schools, organizations and charities, said founder David Loesch.

Last year, the Rotary Club of Katy donated approximately $135,000 as a result of the festival. Recipients included Katy ISD FFA Projects, Auction and Special Rodeo, Katy ISD Fine Arts and Band, Katy ISD Education Foundation, Christ Clinic of Katy, The Ballard House, Katy Christian Ministries, MADD and Special Olympics Texas.

Because the event is run by volunteers, every dollar raised through the festival goes directly to local charities.

“(Loesch) had a dream many years ago of saying, ‘Let’s do something that we all enjoy, but that can also impact our community,'” event coordinator Chris Garcia said. so we’re here to give back to our Katy community, and we’re touching lives.”

The tickets are on sale now.
