Hurricane Ian’s Flooded Ferraris Have Arrived on Copart

Every time a large-scale storm passes through the United States, cars are destroyed. It’s just the nature of flooding, especially in places like Florida, which was recently hit by a Category 4 hurricane. A ton of cars were destroyed by insurance companies due to damage from the floods, most of which are starting to show up on the Copart salvage auction site. And there are real gems.

A quick search for Ferrari on the site yields 59 results, 40 of which point to flood damage as the reason for their occurrence. There are all kinds of California, F430, 360, Portofino and 488, in addition to some rarer and more expensive models, including an SF90 Stradale and, tragically, a 550 Maranello.

Ferraris weren’t the only cool cars inundated by Hurricane Ian. Copart lists seven flooded Lamborghinis located in Florida; five Huracáns, a Urus, a Gallardo Spyder and an Aventador Roadster. There are also seven McLarens on site, including a 600LT and the infamous yellow P1. We’d also like to give an honorable mention to the six Porsche 911 GT3s and GT3 RSs that fell victim to Ian’s flooding.

With more and more cars recovered from Hurricane Ian starting to appear for sale online, now might be the time to hone your skills on how to avoid being scammed by a flood damaged car. Flood damage is especially easy to miss if you don’t know what to look for.
