Judicial work suspended on September 26 in NCR and Luzon provinces due to Typhoon “Karding”

The Supreme Court (SC) ordered a suspension of work on Monday, September 26 in all courts in the National Capital Region, Region III (Central Luzon) and Regions IV and V (South Luzon) due to of the super typhoon “Karding. ”

Acting Chief Justice Marvic MVF Leonen issued the work suspension. Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo is on an official trip abroad and will return on September 27.

The directive means that there will be no work in the SC, Manila Court of Appeal, Sandiganbayan, Tax Appeal Court and all magistrates’ courts in the four areas covered by Leonen’s directive .

Magistrates’ court judges outside the four zones were given discretion to suspend work in their areas of jurisdiction.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has issued an advisory that Cagayan Valley (Region 2), Bicol (Region 5) and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) are already in a state of emergency. ‘Red alert.

Several Local Government Units (LGUs) in the NCR and Luzon also issued work suspensions on Monday, September 26.
