Leisure & Resorts World Corp donates relief packages to typhoon victims in Cebu

Philippine gaming conglomerate Leisure & Resorts World Corp (LRWC) has donated approximately 600 relief packages containing food and essential hygiene items to families in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, who have been affected by the Typhoon Odette.

The initiative was spearheaded by BingoPlus, described as the new gaming arm of LRWC’s retail group, after the typhoon that swept across the country in December.

According to media reports, Typhoon Odette affected around 8 million people and displaced nearly 200,000 from their homes, with 1.4 million homes damaged or destroyed.

LRWC said its assistance to Cebu is an important part of its corporate citizenship initiatives.

“By mobilizing employee volunteers, LRWC has brought the spirit of bayanihan to victims of calamity as its CSR efforts aim to inspire hope and kindness in difficult times like this,” explained the business.

“The volunteers who dedicate their time to sourcing, packing, shipping and distributing the relief packages were part of the staff at the Cebu branch of BingoPlus.”

LRWC is a diversified gaming company whose interests include bingo, slot machine rentals and the operation of slot machine arcades on behalf of PAGCOR.

He also presented plans to build a casino in Boracay.
