There will be a tsunami in the country, this government will fall: Mirza Fakhrul


BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that there will be a tsunami in the country and that this government will fall into this tsunami.

He said, there is no need to describe the state of the country again, ask the bus passengers on the street how much the bus fare has increased! Rickshaw pullers, farmers, teachers are all struggling… The middle class, who can’t afford anything, are suffering the most.

He made the statements during a professional rally organized by the Bangladesh Combined Professionals Council in front of the National Press Club on Friday August 12, regarding “the unbearable rise in the price of fuel oil, the rampant prices of all basic commodities, the disaster electricity, rising gas prices, indiscriminate shooting of political leaders and demand for the unconditional release of Khaleda Zia”.

In the keynote address, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the Awami League destroyed the country in a very planned way.

The government abolished the interim government system and deprived the people of their right to vote, he added.

Alleging that this government is stealing, stealing, he said there is no difference between the government and the Pakistanis now.

Mirza Fakhrul said the government is looting the banks.

The government pays Tk 78,000 crore as capacity charge without generating power.

“The government has taken an extra 50,000 crore taka from our pockets in seven years. Even though the price of fuel has come down in the global market, they have raised the price,” added the BNP Secretary General.

Mirza Fakhrul also complained that there were talks about developing metro, tunnel, bridge etc. but now the government is asking for loans from many people including the IMF.

Alleging billions of taka were smuggled out of the country – Fakhrul said there is no justice even though so much money was smuggled in, but BNP leader jailed in bogus case of embezzlement of money, but this money is in the bank, which has even increased now.

Over the past 15 years, the government has forcibly disappeared over 600 leaders and activists, killed thousands of leaders and activists, Ilyas Ali, Chowdhury Alam disappeared. Therefore, Mirza Fakhrul urged politicians to stay on the streets as in the past for the fall of the government and said the government should resign, the parliament should be dissolved and a new electoral commission should be formed.
